Although my AAA Arclight P (Premium) was brighter with a lithium AAA cell in it, with a 900mah rechargeable in both lights, the Fenix light was actually brighter. Both lights have a regulated output to keep it fairly bright through most of the AAA cell’s life.

Both lights had identical bluish tints to them.

The Arclight got noticeably dimmer after 8.5 hours. The Fenix got noticeably dimmer after 10.5 hours. The Arclight could hardly be seen after 11 hours, where the Fenix, although below half brightness still had plenty of useable light. At 12 hours it was still bright enough to be useful, but I’ll bet after 20 hours it would be too dim to serve any purpose.

The center spot is more round on the Arclight, where the Fenix spot was oval.

The overspill is tighter & brighter on the Fenix due to it’s deeper reflector… which also makes it slightly longer. There’s also a bright ring around the center spot due to the reflector.

The keychain hole on the Fenix is too small for most keychain rings, making it difficult to use it for what it was designed for… a keychain light.

It’s also a little wider because of it’s waste of space due to it’s flat sides (which don’t prevent it from rolling away anyway).

The Arclight stayed on my keychain for years because it’s supposed to be almost indestructable, & is much brighter than those “squeeze” keychain lights.

I just put the Fenix on my keychain because it’s brighter, & has a longer battery runtime. Let’s see if it holds up the the abuse, & all my keys banging on it as the Arclight P (premium) did.

I can buy 5 of these Fenix lights for what one Arclight P cost me.

I’ve never heard of Fenix and ordered this based on the reviews. I don’t really need this as I carry, and have carried for years, the little Photon LED lights made by Micro Light. This Fenix is brighter, no doubt, but much larger than what I am used to. The sad thing is that it is made in China. Amazon fails to put country of origin on its product details so who knew? Both Maglite (I own several models) and Micro Light are made here in the USA and are fantastic products. I like to buy American when I can get a good product (rare) so as to support American workers. However, I also believe in the “free” market (so-called) and competiton. So come on, Maglite, you can no doubt make a better product line than Fenix and keep those worthless dollars here on shore. Will I buy another, bigger, Fenix? I think so. Who here in the US makes better for the buck (or even close?)?

Very bright, seems as nice if not nicer than a mag lite. Mag lite seems to have fallen behind. The price is great and free shipping since I bought 3 of them.
