These are soft, comfortable and reasonably priced ear plugs which are meant to keep water out of your ears but you can also use them to block some sound. They block enough sound that I can use them with FINIS SwiMP3.1G Waterproof MP3 Player, which conducts sound through the bone instead of the air. SwiMP3 player works very well under the water but to hear music or sound over the water, you have to wear ear plugs. Mack’s Aquablock Eaplugs block enough sound coming from the air that I am able to hear MP3 podcasts and music with SwiMP3 player outside the water.
The negatives of these earplugs are that there is no cord to attach the two ear plugs and keep them together so you do not lose them ( like Etymotic Research ER20 High-Fidelity Earplugs (White with Red Stem) and the plastic storage box is rather big and not self draining. These ear plugs do not float on water when they get out of your ear but with their purple color they are easily spotted on swimming pool bottom and you can dive to retrieve them. But they are soft, snug and comfortable in the ears.

These ear plugs are great for keeping cold water out of my ears.
Usually they are fine but I used them this past weekend during a triathlon and had trouble getting one of them out as I was running to the transition area. I could not get a good enough grip on it. It was too slippery to hold on to. I am not sure what they could do to fix that though.

This is the 3rd brand I try, the other 2 much more expensive and not really as good as this one.
They are good and cheap, what else can I ask for…

The biggest advantage I can say about these earplugs < [...]> is that they are very convenient. To reuse and wash (I normally dip them in the water, but its best to read the directions) and slip in the ear, plus I am not sure if anyone finds a carrying case important but the container it comes with is super handy for me in my gym bag. On the flip side I am confused as to which would be better for water and swim use when I compare these to the company’s silicone earplugs. You can’t buy them from their site, but you can from Amazon and I found a decent revision: [...] .

I have tried many earplugs - this one actually works and stays in your ear. Used them for lap swimming several days per week and in a triathlon - they stayed put and kept the water out. I would definately recommend product.
