Obama’s New Federal Stimulus Plan Includes Education Grants and Scholarships For Moms in Excess of $10,000
As you all know by now, the Federal Government has released a new stimulus package to give the economy a bit of a kick-start. There are a number of programs for debt-relief, scholarships and grants that are helping people financially or encouraging them to go to school. One very important program to accomplish both of these is the revised version of the Federal Pell grant that offers more funds to moms who are trying to change their lives for the better.
This is in some ways a type of reward to those mothers who have worked diligently in the past to make something for their family and have neglected their own dreams. For all their hard work, they deserve to get something for themselves - a free education. The government will give each student up to $10,000 a year for up to the equivalent of 18 semesters to finish their post-secondary education.
It might be a strange way to try to fix the economy, but when you think about all of those graduates going on to better jobs, higher wages, and paying more taxes, it will put the economy in better standing.
