Lake Tahoe Community College, also known as LTCC, is a two-year, community college situated in South Lake Tahoe, California, United States. It was established in the year 1975. LTCC’s campus spreads across an area of more than 180 acres. It includes labs, a black box theater, and a gymnasium. The college offers more than 35 different associate degrees and over 18 certificates in diverse areas of study. It also offers distance learning opportunities through online courses.
LTCC’s athletics department fields several men’s and women’s sports teams. They are members of the NAIA and participate in various intercollegiate sports including men’s and women’s intercollegiate cross-country and women’s intercollegiate volleyball. The campus is home to several registered student clubs.
The school is known for its programs in music, science, and liberal arts.
Lake Tahoe Community College is an open-admission school. Many applicants are from out of state, an indication of the quality or special character of the school.

The Addiction Studies program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in alcohol and drug treatment programs and to provide continuing education for health care and human services professionals. - Anthropology
The Anthropology Department offers introductory courses in cultural and physical anthropology as well as a variety of courses in archaeology, visual anthropology, and religion. - Art
The Art Department offers a wide variety of introductory courses in design, drawing, ceramics, photography, painting, sculpture and bronze casting. - Business
Students seeking a business degree can select from the following seven areas of concentration: Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Small Business Ownership, General Business, Global Business. - Computer and Information Sciences
The Computer & Information Sciences program is designed to provide education and training for students who plan a career working with computers. - Computer Applications/Office Technology
The program prepares students for positions in a variety of areas involving computer applications software as a necessary tool, such as in administrative support, office management, and computer software support. - Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice program is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the key components of the criminal justice system (i.e., law/courts, law enforcement, and corrections/community supervision) and to prepare students for entry-level careers in these systems. - Culinary Arts
It is the goal of the Culinary Arts program to prepare individuals for rewarding careers in the food service profession while serving the food service industry by providing a trained and knowledgeable work force. - Early Childhood Education
The curriculum combines theoretical training with practical field experience provided in the college’s child development center. - English
An associate degree in English helps develop critical thinking skills through the study of persuasive argumentation, creative writing, and critical analysis of literature. - Fire Science
The Fire Science program is designed to give students the required knowledge to pursue entry-level municipal or wildland fire service careers. - Humanities
The Humanities major is broadbased, allowing students to take courses in several fields — including literature and philosophy; the history of art, music, or drama; languages; and the all-inclusive humanities courses. - Mathematics
Course offerings range from arithmetic to algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus for the social and life sciences, calculus and analytical geometry, linear algebra, differential equations, and statistics. - Medical Office Assistant

Academic offerings include activity courses, health, nutrition, first aid, and the sciences. The programs fully utilize outdoor facilities such as local ski areas, golf courses, Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. - Psychology

The Sociology degree offers students major preparation for transfer to a four-year institution. - Spanish
