However, the most popular sports at Vassar is Women’s Rugby and Men’s Basketball. That leads me to another college trend that is the epitome of Vassar, the male to female ration. Many people often question if Vassar even houses men at their school. The ratio is apparent that the difference between the number of men and the number of women attending is out of control. Often the male population can have their pick of the women due to the vast difference in the numbers.
Other college trends that Vassar seems to break the mold on is the amount of diverse students attending. People tend to think that college is rich in diversity offering the gamut of races, cultures, and views however Vassar seems to be lacking in this aspect. When talking to actual students the consensus is that the best part of Vassar is the academics and the worst part is the lack of political, racial, and soci-economic diversity. It seems that the typical college trends do not follow at this upstate New York University; however what it offers truly makes it one of the most prestigious universities in the nation. From the extremely well know professors to the famous Sunday afternoon brunches Vassar truly has many things to offer besides the academics.

The relaxed atmosphere truly provides for students to mix and mingle through different organizations and on campus dance club, you will not have a hard time finding things to do on the weekend. No matter what you are into you are sure to find your niche at Vassar College as it has one of the most well known organization memberships in the state. Despite their lack of typical college trends, Vassar has truly made their own trends, which continues to attract and retain the best and brightest in the nation.
