Watch Out American Fathers

Fathers all over the country can rejoice in the fact that the Federal Pell Grants have been revised for the better. Not only have they been made available to more students, but the amounts being rewarded have jumped.

The funds available had been limited to $4050 a semester, but have changed to be up to $5100 or a total of $10,000 a year. This is good news for those who found the previous amount to be tight. It will be raised slightly in the next year as well. You can qualify for up to 18 semesters as well which generally is more than enough time to complete one program. This is wonderful if you wish to complete more than one degree and go on to a Master’s degree or something of that sort.

To apply, you must be at least 18 years old and an American citizen. There are 5400 schools involved so there should be no difficulty in finding one that you want to attend. There is also the option of completing online courses. This is convenient especially if you have to stay home with children or if you are disabled. It can also save on travel costs.

When applying to your school, submit the grant application as well, and that will take care of your end of the deal. The government will take care of it from there. Then all you need to do is your homework. It doesn’t get much better than that.

The Federal Government and the FAFSA has all the information on their websites if you want to check it out. It’s a great opportunity for you.
